It seems that the number of ways to waste time on the internet is boundless. This morning, I have been playing with word clouds, and telling myself that this is a useful pastime, as it will give me clues as to which words I might be overusing in my writing. Hah.
Here's a word cloud from my (January, 2011) novel in which Nothing Happens.
Notice that the words vampire, murder, magic, time travel, treasure, war, pregnant, divorce, chronic illness, aliens, dystopias, ghosts, guns, auto accidents, plane crashes, paranormal powers, drug abuse, rape, and death appear nowhere in the cloud.
